Kirrin Finch specializes in menswear-inspired clothing designed in a gender-defying fashion to fit a range of female bodies. The Brooklyn based couple of Laura Moffat and Kelly Sanders Moffat became frustrated when they were not able to find clothing that matched their own style. They preferred the look of button-up shirts and bow ties and were envious of the clothing they saw in the men’s department. Since they were unable to find the clothing they wanted, they started making it!
They believe in environmentally sustainable practices and in using natural materials. They do make their T-shirts out of a blend of 50% organic cotton and 50% recycled plastic bottles. So although the fabric is not entirely natural, it is pretty cool to be using the recycled bottles.
They also believe in making their products right at home in New York City. That allows them to keep a close watch on quality and conditions in the workplace.
At the very core of Kirrin Finch is the commitment to empower women and give back to the LGBTQ community.
